Pop up and give the girls a good send off!

We wish our under 14 girls football team every success as they travel to County Meath for the All Ireland Fiele which runs from Friday to Sunday of this week. They will be guests of St. Mary’s Donore who are based about three mile South West of Drogheda. These committed young girls have done the club proud this season and they will be determined to make their mark in the Feile. Last Saturday a member of the team Eabha Mullan represented Derry in the Fiele skills competition at Croke Park. They are paired with St. Mary’s Donore and Hertfordsire a GAA Club formed in England in 1960.

⭕ Well done to the primary school hurlers who won the Headmaster’s Shield at the annual St. Patrick’s Maghera tournament. The team was captained by Cormac Canning. The school’s footballers lost to Moneyneena in their shield final.

⭕ We wish a speedy recovery to our senior team captain Paul Keane who suffered a knee injury away to Steelstown last Thursday evening. Ballerin lost by 2-14 to 1-9 with a badly under strength team. Sean Ferris had a fine game scoring 1-3.

⭕ The under 16 footballers are away to Ballymaguigan in the league on Thursday. On Friday the under 14 hurlers are at home to Castledawson and on Monday the minor footballers are at home to Ballymaguigan. There will be no more senior action for a few weeks.

⭕ Best of luck to Kosta and his team mates when Derry play Galway Tribesmen in the Celtic Challenge under 17 hurling final on Saturday.

⭕ Congratulations to Mickey Donnelly and his Derry under 20 team on their Ulster final victory over Armagh on Sunday at Clones. They now play Mayo in the All Ireland semi final.
