On Thursday the under 16’s had an easy win over visiting Doire Trasna. The game was over as a contest at half time with Ballerin leading by 4-11 to 1-2 and they ran out winners by 7-19 to 1-4.
The scorers were Oran Bradley 1.3, Gianni Papachristopolous 0.2, Declan Ferris 1.1, Bobby Mullan 1.2, Ryan Deighan 3.0, Seoirse Harkin 0.1, Ben O’Kane 0.2, Daire Mullan 1.5 and Shane McIntyre 0.3.
On Wednesday it was the under 15 seven a side Og Sport at Owenbeg and it started with a 2-6 to 0-6 win over Doire Trasna. The scorers were Ryan Deighan 1.0,Oran Bradley 0.1,Ciaran Mullan 0.1,Ben O’Kane 1.0 and Shane McIntyre 0.4
The next game as a comprehensive 3-7 to 1-3 victory over Glen, the scorers were, Oran Bradley 1.1, Ryan Deighan 0.3, Ben O’Kane 1.0,Seoirse Harkin 0.1 and Shane McIntyre 1.2
The final group game was against a big and very skilful Kilrea team but Ballerin gave them as good a run as nay team before going under by 2-13 to 1-4.
The scorers were Ryan Deighan 1.1 and Shane McIntyre 0-3
On Wednesday the seniors beat Slaughtmanus by 1-14 to 0-12 after extra time in the final of the James O’Hagan Cup. It was level 0-10 each at the end of normal time and 0-12 each at the end of the first period of extra time. In the final period a goal and a pointed free by Cathal Faulkner along with a Pascal McKay point sealed a hard fought victory. Slaughtmanus led by 0-8 to 0-6 at half time.
The Ballerin scorers were Cathal Faulkner 1-5, Pascal McKay, John O’Connell and Eugene Mullan 0-2 each, Gary Keane, Liam Brown and Mark Ferris 0-1 each.
This Thursday at 7:30 there is a big task for the seniors when they take on Greenlough at Castledawson in the first round of the Intermediate championship. It will take a mighty effort from all players to compete against one of the championship favourites.
It was a good week at all levels for the club’s teams, on Monday Errigal Minors(Glenullin/Ballerin) beat Coleraine by 0-13 to 2-6.
On Tuesday the under 14’s had a comfortable win over Dungiven B. After an early flurry of goals manager Paul Mullan took off some of the stronger players to give the subs a run. At half time the score was Ballerin 6.10 Dungiven B 0.2 and it ended 6-15 to 0-6.
The scorers were Jack Robinson 2.0, Dylan Mullan 0.4 Jordan Hyndman 2.3,
Matthew Connolly 0.2, Ciaran Mullan 0.2, Brendan Harkin 0.1, Stephen Ferris 0.1 and Shane McIntyre 2-2.
The under 16 side put in a great second half performance against joint league leaders Coleraine before going under by 3-5 to 0-12 in a game they were very unlucky not to get something from.
