The senior footballers had a good win over Claudy on Friday night to reach the quarter-final of the Intermediate Championship. It was a closely contested game which went to extra time. It was 0-10 each at the end of normal time but in the opening ten minutes of extra time the team played some brilliant football and scored 1-4 without reply. In the last ten minutes it was the case of trying to keep possession and they restricted Claudy to three points without scoring themselves. Captain Stephen Mullan’s point doubled his total for the last ten years!!
The scorers were Paul Keane 0-5, Eugene Mullan 1-2, Gary Keane 0-2,Pascal McKay, Stephen Mullan, Shane Ferris, Paul Ferris and Jarleth Bradley 0-1 each.
This Saturday it is a quarter final-clash at Newbridge against Castledawson with who we had two great tussles last year before losing the replay. It will be a very tough task against the big Castledawson team who beat us in the league. The game is at 3 O’Clock and will be followed by Greenlough v Glen.
The seniors lost away to Ballymaguigan in their final game of the league losing by 2-13 to 1-7. They trailed by 1-8 to 0-3 at half time.

This weekend the seniors face a tough game against Claudy in the championship and they will have to be at their best if they are to make progress.
The under 16 team lost in the championship to a very strong Newbridge team but they have had a good season finishing in the upper half of the league with most of the team eligible for next year.
