In recent years you will probably have been aware of some high profile deaths of young people particularly young men due to sudden cardiac death. Heart disease is the most common cause of unexpected death amongst all ages and a significant number of young people continue to die from sudden cardiac death, in most cases from a condition they did not know they had.
Cardiac screening in the young (CRY) are holding a 2 day FREE cardiac screening event in Foyle College on the Dungreggan Road on 22 & 23 November. The screening is designed to detect issues with heart disease amongst people aged between 14 & 35 and is offered free of charge, although voluntary donations are welcome.
If anyone is interested, booking is available by logging on the www.testmyheart.org and CRY are encouraging as many people as possible to avail of the service.
