The seniors played quite well but conceded a soft goal early in the second half when leading by a point. They fought back to be level with just over ten minutes remaining when the visitors got their second goal from the same player Aidan Keenan.
The final score was 2-11 to 0-13 for the visitors. Ballerin scorers Gary Keane 0-6, Jarleth Bradley and Eugene Mullan 0-2 each, Callum Bradley, Shaun Mullan and Bobby Mullan 0-1 each.
In the reserve game Castledawson had a comfortable 5-15 to 3-5 victory with Ballerin only coming alive in the closing stages. The scorers were Simon McGinley 2-0, Richard Cassidy 1-0, John McGinley 0-2, Paul Robinson Benny McDevitt and Ryan Deighan 0-1 each. The team was Ronan Mullan, Daniel Connolly, Pearse McIntyre, Garth Mullan, Peter McGinley, Oran Bradley, Benny McDevitt, Sean Ferris, Robert Mullan, Ryan Deighan, Paul Robinson, Simon McGinley and Conor McAleese. Suns used Richard Cassidy, John McGinley, Ryan Mullan and Ben O’Kane.
The seniors lost by a point at Faughanvale on Sunday in very windy conditions. The final score was 0-8 to 0-7 and in the end our players did not take their chances in the second half. Overall they played well enough with Shea Doherty having an outstanding game at corner back and Liam Brown strong at midfield. The scorers were Gary Keane 0-4, Liam brown 0-2 and Paul Ferris 0-1.
The Reserves failed to follow up a good first half performance nd lost to Faughanvale by 2-12 to 2-6. the goals were scored by Paul Robinson and Simon McGinley.
This Sunday a the senior and reserves are at home to unbeaten Castledawson.
Great start to the league campaign for our seniors.
The seniors got their league campaign off to a winning start with a 2-15 to 1-7 home win against Doire Trasna. Ballerin led by 0-10 to 0-3 at half time. Second half goals from Eugene Mullan and Paul Ferris ended the Doire Trasna challenge.

The seniors and reserves play Faughanvale away next Sunday. Reserve game 2pm and senior 3-30pm
