Ballymaguigan 0-15 0-11 Ballerin

Just one football game in the last week and it was an away defeat for the seniors at Ballymaguigan by 0-15 to 0-11. After a close first half Ballymaguigan pulled away in the second. The scorers were Gary Keane 0-6, Mark Ferris, Paul Ferris, Shane Ferris, Eugene Mullan and Liam Brown 0-1 each. The next game is senior and reserve at home to Lissan next Sunday.

Ballerin 2-13 1-7 Moneymore

Our seniors got back on the winning trail after three defeats with a 2-13 to 1-7 home win over Moneymore. Ballerin got off to the best possible start with the first eight points/ Gerry Keane was in top form scoring five of them. At half time it was 0-9 to 0-4 but Moneymore closed the gap to a point when Paudie O’Neill goaled and Conor McAleese got a point. Ballerin got their game together again in the last fifteen minutes and goals from Liam Brown and Eugene Mullan sealed a good victory.

The scorers were Gary Keane 0-7, Eugene Mullan 1-3, Shaun Mullan, Paul Ferris and Bobby Mullan 0-1 each.

Jarleth Bradley’s knee injury has been confirmed as a cruciate ligament problem and unfortunately this promising young player will miss the rest of the season and part of the next one.

Glenullin 2-21 0-9 Ballerin

The seniors and reserves both suffered defeats away to Glenullin in the league on Sunday. A bad start saw Ballerin 1-4 to 0-1 down early in the game and it was always an uphill struggle after that. Glenullin led by 1-8 to 0-4 at half time but after Ballerin cut the margin to six points Glenullin took complete control to run out easy winners. Ballerin scorers Gary Keane 0-6, Shaun Mullan, Shane Ferris and Eugene Mullan 0-1 each. The reserves were well in the game at half time trailing by two points but Glenullin got on top in the second period and won by 1-20 to 0-10.
