Very well done to our boys and girls on thier win!!
Ladies Football Championship Semi-Final – FT: Eoghan Rua 1-13 Ballerin 1-10. Amazing match in Celtic Park tonight, our girls fought back 1-7 to 0-3 down to take the match to Extra time, we lead in ET but Coleriane came back to win it. A magnificent game of football, our girls very unlucky not to have won in the second half with a goal stopped on the line. You did us proud girls!! #UTS
It was Ballerin’s greater ability to take their chances that won the game. They led by 0-7 to 0-3 at half time which was a slender enough lead in the after playing with the stiff breeze. Just as it looked like Glenullin might take over Seonaidh Mullan grabbed the all important goal. The defence played brilliantly in the face of strong second half pressure. They enjoyed a reception in the club rooms after the game and will now get geared up for the Ulster championship.
Despite giving their all in the intermediate championship replay against Foreglen at Ballinderry the seniors lost by a point on the score of 0-10 to 1-6. It was level at half time but too many chances were missed in the early stages of the second half. The scorers were Damian Cassidy 0-4, Paul Keane 1-0, Eugene Mullan and Ryan Deighan 0-1 each. Hopefully the improvement shown will carry on into next year.
