Ballerin 1-10 1-09 Glenullin

Congratulations to our senior camogie team who won their second county junior title in three years. They just edged out Glenullin by 1-10 to 1-9 at the Eoghan Rua grounds. Seniors Championship Win 2017

It was Ballerin’s greater ability to take their chances that won the game. They led by 0-7 to 0-3 at half time which was a slender enough lead in the after playing with the stiff breeze. Just as it looked like Glenullin might take over Seonaidh Mullan grabbed the all important goal. The defence played brilliantly in the face of strong second half pressure. They enjoyed a reception in the club rooms after the game and will now get geared up for the Ulster championship.

On Sunday in very windy conditions a 1-10 to 0-13 home draw against Ballymaguigan in a good game. Team and scorers Ronan Mullan, Shane Ferris, Brian Deighan, Shea Doherty, Bobby Mullan, Callum Bradley, Stephen Mullan, Liam Brown 0-1, Shaun Mullan, Dylan Mullan, Paul Ferris 0-1, Mark Ferris, Ryan Deighan 0-1, Gary Keane 0-7, Sean Ferris 1-0. Sub Shane McIntyre. Shaun Mullan had a fine game at midfield and elsewhere Bobby Mullan, Gary Keane and Brian Deighan were solid.
The reserves got a welcome game against Ballymaguigan but did not take advantage of the first half wind. They lost by 2-13 to 1-11. The goal scorer was Anton Bradley.

The under 14’s had a good win in the league beating Claudy away by 2-9 to 2-4. The minors lost to St. Michael’s by 1-11 to 1-4.
The next senior game is at home to Craigbane on Sunday 2-30pm

Lissan 0-11 1-9 Ballerin

On Wednesday night a hard fought 1-9 to 0-11 win away to Lissan in round 2 of the league. Team and scorers Ronan Mullan, Shane Ferris 0-1, Brian Deighan, Shea Doherty, Bobby Mullan, Callum Bradley, Stephen Mullan, Anton Bradley, Liam Brown 0-1, Shane Ferris 1-0, Eugene Mullan, Mark Ferris 0-1, Ryan Deighan, Gary Keane 0-6, Sean Ferris. Sub Shaun Mullan. In a spirited display Shane Ferris, Stephen Mullan and Gary Keane were in top form.

Fixtures – W/C 17th April 17

A very busy week coming up for all the football teams. Tuesday the under 14’s travel to Claudy, On Thursday the under 16’s are at home to Doire Colmcille. On Sunday at 11am the under 14’s are away to Ballymaguigan in the Feile. At 2-30 the seniors play Lissan and there will also be a reserve game with Lissan as well. On Monday the minors travel to St. Michael’s.
