The members, players and committee of Ballerin GAC are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our clubmate and present Senior player Shaun Mullan. Shaun was a very well loved member of our Senior team who enjoyed training and playing football with his friends and teammates. Shaun loved a tough physical battle during a game and this side of his personality shone through to the end as he tried his best to battle the injuries he suffered in the tragic accident on Thursday morning.
Our deepest sympathies and thoughts are with Shaun’s family and his wife Sinead. This will undoubtedly be a very difficult time for his family, friends and our wider Club family, we will now do our best as a Club and Community to help each other through this tragic, sorrowful time and keep the memory of Shaun strong in our hearts.
Due to the tragic accident this week involving our senior player Shaun Mullan, there will be no club events or participation until further notice. This includes Scor, Weekly Bingo and the Annual Club Presentation. Our thoughts and prayers are with all his family and friends. The Club mass tomorrow (Sunday 18th November) morning will go ahead at 10am.
A club mass will be held in St Mary’s Church this Sunday (19th November) at 10am for all deceased, past and present members.
A book of remembrance is available this week at the back of the chapel for anyone who wishes to record the name of a loved one. This will then be presented as part of the mass.
We invite everyone to wear their club colours.
We are holding a Coach Education session on Sat 11th Nov @11am for approx 2 hours. The session will be delivered by Richard Ferris and Chris Collins. All coaches and interested parents are invited to attend.
Our Annual Youth Presentation will take place on Saturday 2nd December
Our Annual Bazaar will take place on Sunday 17th December
Ladies Football Championship Semi-Final – FT: Eoghan Rua 1-13 Ballerin 1-10. Amazing match in Celtic Park tonight, our girls fought back 1-7 to 0-3 down to take the match to Extra time, we lead in ET but Coleriane came back to win it. A magnificent game of football, our girls very unlucky not to have won in the second half with a goal stopped on the line. You did us proud girls!! #UTS
